What To Bring

Our clients will be responsible for doing their own laundry (with staff supervision and support) on a weekly basis. Clients should generally wear comfortable clothing, such as, jeans, shorts, sweat pants, yoga/work out pants etc. Clients should also bring hiking and/or tennis shoes, flip flops (for the beach only) and bathing suits (non-revealing, one piece swimsuits for female clients).

Clients are only allowed to bring 10 outfits!

This rule is strictly enforced and we appreciate every effort on your part as the parent at ensuring that your child does NOT bring more than 10 outfits with them in their suitcase. If a client brings more than 10 outfits, they will have to choose which outfits they would like to keep for the duration of their stay. Any additional clothing will be stored at the facility and the client will not have access to them throughout their stay.

Dress Code

No belts or clothing with draw strings are allowed (draw strings will be removed from hoodies, shorts, pants, etc. upon admission).
Shorts are permitted as long as they are mid-thigh.
All shirts must cover mid-section and stomach completely and have an appropriate neckline.
Straps on tank tops must be 2+ inches.
No form fitting white ribbed tank tops.
Dresses are OK as long as they are mid-thigh.
Flip flops for swimming only.
No sheer, mesh, or transparent clothing.
No thong underwear.
Non-revealing, one-piece bathing suits only.
No high heels.
No “going out” or “clubbing” clothes.
No excessive or overly large pants.
No drug, alcohol, sex, or gang related designs on clothing.
No beanies.

Preferably all piercings must be replaced by plastic pieces before arrival. If not possible, then studs should be worn, even still it is probable that your child will be required to remove their piercings.

Example of 10 Appropriate Outfits:

Blue jeans and top
Shorts and tank top
Capris and t-shirt
Jeans and long sleeve top
Dress
Long skirt and top
Cargo shorts and t-shirt
Sweats and sweatshirt
Skirt and top
Exercise pants and t-shirt

In addition to the 10 outfits, your child may bring a pair of swim trunks or non-revealing one-piece bathing suit, a pair of pajamas, 7 underwear, 7 pairs of socks, and 3 pair of shoes total.

Your child will need a pair of tennis shoes/boots for hiking, flip-flops or sandals for the beach and the 3rd pair of shoes can be whatever the child prefers.

Prohibited Items

No cell phones.
No smart watches including Apple iWatch, FitBits, etc.
No make-up or cosmetics.
No shaving razors, electric razors or any type of hair removal product allowed! This applies to all genders.
No outside food and drinks.
No mirrors.
No laptops, tablets, iPads.
No MP3’s, iPods or other music players.
No alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, matches, lighters, vapor, or e-cigarettes.
No expensive jewelry.
No cash/money/credit or debit cards.
No tanning oils, self-tanning products, hair dye or bleaching products.

Other Items to Bring

We suggest that clients bring items that foster comfort and healing. Focus on bringing items that make you feel at home. Other suggested items are:

School books/schoolwork
Photos of family, pets, friends
Clothing (see above, 10 outfits only)
Eyeglasses/contacts (if applicable)
Current prescribed medications (if applicable)

Items Supplied at the Facility

Shampoo/conditioner
Toothpaste/toothbrush/floss
Body wash/soap
Deodorant
Lotion
Sunscreen
Lip Balm
Face wash
Feminine products
Hair ties if approved by the Clinical Director for use

Clients who require specific medications must have a current prescription on file for the product or if available over-the-counter then it must be brought in an unopened container and in addition it must be approved by both the nurse and Clinical Director prior to being used by the client. Alcohol-based products are strictly prohibited.
